Virginia Schulte

Obituary of Virginia Schulte

Virginia Anita Schulte, 88, of Branchburg, passed away on February 1st, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She fought a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on Sept. 30, 1932, she grew up on the family farm in Westwood, NJ.   She was the middle child of three, born to Wesley Bomm and Anita Lucia. Her 2 brothers were Wesley and Robert. She graduated from Westwood High School in 1951.

In her younger years, she was a fashion model for Gimbles Dept. Store. She would later find her passion in a 40 year real estate career, retiring at age 83 from Weichert Reality; her second family.

She married Roy Schulte in 1964 and they started their journey together, working hard and saving, to buy their home in Branchburg in 1966. She was married to Roy Schulte for 45 years who predeceased her in death in 2008.  She has lived in Branchburg for 53 years.

She prided herself in keeping an immaculate home.  She was a healthy eater, cook and avid exerciser.  Famous for her Christmas cookies, her thumb prints were a family favorite. She enjoyed sewing, and gardening and still has some house plants in her home that are over 40 years old. She also loved strolls on the beach at LBI.

She was meticulous, strong, independent, direct, energetic, vivacious, and organized. She was especially committed to her family.  Family was everything to her and she was proud of every member of her large family. She loved having the family at her home for the holidays because that kept everyone together.  She and her husband loved their 2nd home in Long Beach Island too. The LBI home was also the heart of the family and all were welcomed to come and enjoy the beach.

She was a loving mother to her five children - Debbie Phillips who predeceased her in death in 2015, Donna Gulick and husband Dean of Whitehouse Station, Mark Beach of Bedminster, Dan Schulte and wife Linda of Raritan, and Gina Redlich and husband Jim of Bedminster. She was a wonderful grandmother to her 12 grandchildren – Deanna (husband Joe), Dawn, David (wife Katie), Duane (wife Dawn), Denise (husband Everett), Renee, Ryan, Corrine (husband Pete), Brendon (wife Sarah), Stephanie, Stacey and Elicea.  She also had the privilege of having 16 great grandchildren – Tommy, Ally, Ava, Dylan, Emma, Isabella, Joseph, Gabe, Evan, Dawson, Grayson, Asia, Clint, Jack, Amelia and Gabriella.

While our hearts are sad to loose such a vibrant part of our family, God has welcomed her into heaven joyfully. She loved the Lord and passed her faith on to all because she wanted each person she met, to know Him. She attended Calvary Bible Church in Whitehouse Station.

She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.  Her legacy will remain strong as her life story is remembered.

Please feel free to leave a message or memory for the family.  Private service were entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home.
