Obituary of Barbara John Neely

Barbara Neely, age 82, a longtime resident of New Jersey, died peacefully Friday, March 5, 2021 at Hunterdon Medical Center.  

Born on January 27, 1939 in Dallas Texas, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Stuart John.  

Barbara had a true love for gardening and for many years worked alongside her family in their business, Plant Place on Schooley’s Mountain.  Once she semi-retired, she took great joy in transporting special needs children to school.  She was an avid fisherwoman, loved sewing and was an amazing cook.  Most recently, while living in Warwick, Rhode Island she was an active member of the Warwick Senior Center.  

Barbara is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gerald Neely and her three children and their spouses;  G. Thomas and Bonnie Neely of Randolph, New Jersey ,  Dave and Karen Neely of Warwick, Rhode Island and Sandy and Imre Vitez of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey; her seven  grandchildren, Gerald Neely III , Charlie Neely, Justin Neely, Kelsey Neely Herold, Kaitlyn Vitez, Zachary Vitez, and Sam Vitez; her great grandson Ryan Neely. 

A private family service will be held.
