Obituary of Eileen A Petrasek

Eileen A Petrasek, of Barnegat, NJ, died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Anna Veliky. Eileen and her husband, Ed moved to Parsippany in 1969 and were active members of St. Peter The Apostle Church.  After the death of her husband in 1998 she moved to Annandale where she lived for 16 years before moving to Barnegat in 2016. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale.

She retired as the Practice Manager for Denville Associates of Internal Medicine where she worked for 43 years.

Eileen enjoyed cooking and loved to entertain. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting the National Parks.  Saturdays during the fall were spent watching college football and anyone who knew Eileen knew how much she loved going to Atlantic City in hopes of hitting the big jackpot.

Besides her husband, Edward J. Petrasek, Eileen was predeceased by her daughter, Donna L. Petrasek, her son, Mark E. Petrasek, and her grandson, Mark E. Petrasek, Jr.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura O’Leary and her loving grandchildren, Alexis Merritt and her husband, Joseph, and Estee Marques and her husband, Matthew and her precious great grandson, Luca Marques. She is also survived by her loving companion, Robert Zappulla.

Due to Covid restrictions the family will hold a private funeral service and burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
