I was very fortunate to meet Betty about two years ago, and to be able to spend time with her on a regular basis. Despite her age, she still had a great sense of humor and I would laugh all the time at some of her commentary. I loved her stories of growing up on a farm here in Hunterdon County, her days at Flemington High School and working as a hair stylist. I admired her independent spirit and can see why her family loved her and took good care of her in her golden years. She was very kind to me in many ways, which I will never forget. The last time I saw her, my husband was actually quite sick in the hospital ICU with Covid. She felt bad and thought we should go visit him and bring a gift, which of course was not possible, but I appreciated her sweet thought anyway. I will always remember Betty and her memory will continue to inspire me.
