Obituary of Susan M Apisa
Susan M Apisa, age 71 of Branchburg, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at her home.
Born in Orange, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Virginia (Marnell) Mahon. Susan was raised in West Orange and attended Our Lady of the Valley High School and Newark State College. She lived many years in Dunellen and Whitehouse Station prior to moving to Branchburg in 2014.
She retired after a forty-year career in teaching for the East Orange School system. To her teaching was more than a job, it was a calling, and over the years she touched the lives of countless students. Susan was a very active communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges where she taught Religious Formation. She had a tremendous faith and loved her Church.
She loved spending her days visiting with friends, reading books, and playing with her grandson. Whenever friends or family see an elephant or purple, they will think of Susan. She was a kind and generous person to all and will be deeply missed.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Emily Janiszewski and her husband, Jeffrey; her son, Casey and his wife, Alison and her most beloved grandson, Lucas Apisa. She is also survived by her brothers, Peter Mahon and Matthew Mahon and her sisters, Patricia Fleming, Ginger Quinn, and Maureen Verducci.
