Obituary of Mary M Zimko
Mary M. Zimko, age 92, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Pittstown on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Born in Manville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Veronica Owsik and sister to nine brothers and sisters.
Mary enjoyed a long career in data processing, first with Johns Manville Corp and finally with the U.S. General Services Administration. She lived a large portion of her adult life in Hillsborough before moving to Pittstown 21 years ago.
Mary was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Pittstown as well as the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 2290 in Manville.
She enjoyed working outdoors, gardening and doing yardwork and had a great love for animals. She was a talented needle worker and found tremendous contentment in needlepoint, crocheting, and knitting. Mary’s greatest pleasure, however, came from spending time with her family, most especially her cherished grandson, Zack.
She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore in 1997.
Mary is survived by her son, Stephen and his wife Joyce of Whitehouse Station; her two daughters, Cynthia Quick and her husband, Joel of Pittstown, and Mary A. Zimko of Branchburg as well as her beloved grandson, Dr. Zachary Zimko and his wife Alyssa and her great granddaughter, Jocelyn. She is also survived by her sister, Irene King of Hillsborough.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Pittstown
