Obituary of John T. Burns
Beloved High School Educator
John T. Burns, age 68 of Clinton, NJ, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family and close friends.
Born in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late John and Rosalle Burns. John lived in Lebanon before moving to Clinton 10 years ago.
John received his bachelor's degree in Theology from Granby College in Massachusetts and his Masters Degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame. He was a well-loved and respected high school teacher, at Pius X High School in Bangor, PA and was a moderator for the SADD program at the school.
John was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale and was the accompanist for the youth and adult choirs and a member of the Men's Cornerstone. John was also a pit musician and actor with the Clinton Area Stage Troupe.
John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Deborah Burns, and his daughter, Kathryn Burns, of Clinton.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
