Obituary of Cora E Weierich

Cora (Deyrmanjian) Weierich of Clinton, NJ, previously of Berkeley Heights and Maplewood, NJ, died peacefully at home on December 5, 2021.

Cora was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Edward,  her parents Leon and Elsie, her two sisters Isabelle Manigian and her husband Artie, and Victoria Saraydar and her husband Herant as well as her brother-in-law George Weierich.

She will be deeply missed by her two children Douglas and his wife Virginia, and Barb Surhoff and her husband Steve, by her loving grandchildren, Eric, Gretchen, Daniel, and Matthew, by her sister-in-law Carol Weierich along with many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Columbia High School in Maplewood, she attended Washington School for Secretaries.  She was an executive secretary for many years at Nopco Chemical where she met her husband, Edward.

She was a fan of Frank Sinatra and the Tommy Dorsey and Bennie Goodman Orchestras.  She enjoyed going to Olympic Park.  Cora's passions were her family, bowling, bridge and golf.  After the abandonment of the Brooklyn Dodgers, she was a lifelong fan of the NY Mets (the new "Wait till next year").  She missed seeing Gil Hodges enter the Hall of Fame by one day.  She celebrated her 100th birthday in October surrounded by her grandchildren, with fish and chips, ice cream cake and many Mets themed gifts.
