Obituary of Barbara MacManis

Barbara Lina MacManis (Christoph) of Tewksbury Township, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Barbara, or Bobsy as her family called her, passed away on January 13 at the age of 84.

Barbara loved hosting big family meals and her Memorial Day picnic was always a hit, running late into the night and ending around a bonfire, singing BINGO and making s’mores. She deeply loved her family and friends, often putting their needs before her own. Even more, she loved to dance and always had to ask a DJ to play YMCA.  She enjoyed traveling with her real estate friends, specially to New Orleans.  During quite times she spent many hours watching her backyard birds on the many bird feeders kept filled daily by her husband. She also dedicated many volunteer hours to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 30 years of delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.

Barbara sold real estate for 40 years in Hunterdon, Morris, Warren, and Somerset counties and saw many of these once rural counties grow into bustling areas. She was a true people-person: friendly and outgoing to everyone she met.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth, and their two children Ken (Janice Fricke) and Jill (Charlie Ehid), grandchildren Kenny and Kacey, two great-grandchildren, sister Millie Mellblom, and brother Ernie Christoph and his wife, Adele.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Meals on Wheels of Hunterdon County, Flemington, NJ. Barbara would be happy knowing something good comes from her death.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
