Obituary of Prudence A Giel

Prudence A. Giel, age 72 of Milford, NJ, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Born in Rye, NY, she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Charlotte Moore.  Prudence grew up in Mamaroneck, NY and moved to Milford in 1977.

Upon graduation she took a job as a secretary for the CIA followed by General Foods. Her longest career tenure was at AT&T where she spent more than 30 years before enjoying the perks of retirement.

Pru’s faith was very important to her and she was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Pittstown. She was also a dedicated member of her cancer support community, regularly attending their Tuesday night group.

Everywhere Pru went she had a smile on her face. She was always positive and believed in the motto “no bad days”. She lived and loved with an enormous heart.

Pru had a passion for the Jersey shore, Daytona Beach, attending craft shows and estate sales with friends and her many dogs over the years. Above all, family was her everything and she would do anything for her girls and husband.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Geoff Moore in 2008.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, William; her two daughters, Dawn and her fiance, Tim Lawton of NY, NY and Dayna and her partner, Luis Gotay of Monroe Twp.; her brother, John Moore and his husband, Dan Kautz of Largo, FL and her sister, Priscilla Jacobson and her husband, Peter of Washington, NJ.
