Obituary of Andrew J Michaels

Andrew J. Michaels, age 42 of Readington Twp., NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, NY surrounded by family. Born in Plainview, NY, he lived in Flemington Borough before moving to Readington Twp. in 2012. He attended Muhlenberg College where he met his college sweetheart and wife, Ann M. Michaels. The two had a profound devotion to each other every day of the 22 years they were together. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Biology from Stony Brook University. Andy worked for Covance for over 15 years as a manager before joining Bristol Myers Squibb as an Informed Consent Process Lead in 2020.

Andy greatly enjoyed hiking; he loved any activity that included being outdoors or spending time with his wife, girls and dogs. He also enjoyed playing guitar, annual trips to Wildwood, NJ and was an avid fan of the NY Giants.

Most people who met Andy would say that he was a friendly and deeply compassionate person who would always go the extra mile for his family and friends. They instantly felt comfortable around him with his good-humoured personality.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Ann Michaels; his two cherished daughters, Sophia and Vivienne; his father, Ronald Michaels and his wife, Dolores Michaels of Bayside, NY; his mother, Aileen Michaels and her husband, Asher Rosenberg of Syosset, NY; his brother, Daniel Michaels and his wife, Elizabeth Michaels of Lynbrook, NY; his mother-in-law, Margaret Mormino of Readington, NJ, as well as his beloved dogs, Winnie and Louis.

Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. A celebration of life service will start at 12:00 pm. The family would greatly appreciate hearing your memories of Andy. There will be an invitation for anyone who wishes to share a story or a memory to do so at the appropriate time during the service. 

Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
