Obituary of Barbara G Murphy

Barbara Gail Murphy, 74 of Whitehouse Station died on Thursday December 1, 2022 in her home.

 

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bertha Mihacz Vernachio. 

 

Barbara grew up in Perth Amboy before moving to Avenel, Colonia, Bridgewater and finally settling in Whitehouse Station.

 

After graduating from Perth Amboy High School, she studied to be an elementary teacher and graduated from Trenton State College in 1971.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, William, her son Brett, his wife Morgan and their son Maverick of Garden City, Long Island. 

 

Barbara was an avid Disney lover. She had been to Disney World over 50 times since 1972,

There is a room in her house called the “Mickey room” which houses memorabilia and collectibles from her visits. 

 

Her dog Happy was the love of her life and she would not travel anywhere without him.

 

She was a fan of the Yankees. Barbara also loved to travel, visiting many of America’s Historic Hotels. 

 

She was also very creative in interior design and assembling beautiful floral centerpieces.

 

Her internment will be private.
