Obituary of JoAnne Lenzi
JoAnne (Lombardi) Lenzi, 89, passed away peacefully, at home, on January 28, 2023 after a long illness.
JoAnne was born on Staten Island, NY, lived many years in North Bellmore, NY and retired to Hemlock Farms in Lords Valley, PA. In later years she moved to Texas while receiving medical treatment.
JoAnne was an avid reader who also loved to watch tennis and football. She worked in the Bellmore school district, as a library volunteer, then an administrative assistant and eventually helping to establish and run the district's first teachers center. She was an excellent cook, hosting yearly thanksgiving meals that always included her signature homemade raviolis. With her husband Ralph they would travel including trips to Hawaii, London, Paris, Italy and an epic journey across the country with friends. As her family grew and moved about the country she made frequent trips to spend time with her grandchildren. As a member of St. John Neumann Church she volunteered her time on different committees, was a Eucharistic Minister, performed in shows and pageants, as well as sang in the choir. She also belonged to the Bocce Club, the Fifty plus club and the Italian American society. A true friend, a beacon of love, she was always a positive energy in any room. Her spirit, her energy and her positive attitude were all hallmarks of a true fighter. JoAnne will be dearly missed by her loved ones and all those who knew her.
JoAnne is predeceased by her two brothers, Robert and Michael Lombardi.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Ralph A. Lenzi Jr., Her loving son, Ralph A. Lenzi III and his wife, Veronica Ann and her loving daughter, Linda Grace and her husband, Aldo Capristo. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren: Matthew Thomas and Bryan Aldo Capristo and Ralph A, IV, Vincent Michael, and Elisabeth Mary Rose Lenzi and her great granddaughter, Madalynn Grace and her siblings, Thomas Lombardi and Susan Bouderau.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 8:30 to 10:15 am at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse NJ 08888. A prayer service will be held at 10:15 followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ
Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
