Obituary of Elizabeth A. Kearns
Elizabeth Kearns died on April 22nd, 2023 after a brief illness. Lizzy resided in Basking Ridge her entire life. At the time of passing, Lizzy was surrounded by family in her home of 75 years. A true Christmas miracle, Lizzy was born into the arms of her loving parents Basil and Irene Sanders Kearns on December 25th, 1942.
She attended Bernards Township schools until the tireless efforts of her mother paid off, creating an opportunity for her to be the first of two children to receive special education in Bernards Township.
Lizzy greatly enjoyed music and the arts, spending most of her life doing crafts, drawing, and finding ways to spark her creativity. Being the kind hearted and caring person she was, Lizzy gave away everything she ever created. Her understanding of the color palette was that of a professional and her creative gifts were something everyone who knew her looked forward to receiving. Lizzy also had a great love for animals and cared for several cats and dogs during her life.
Lizzy is survived by her brother Christopher Kearns, sister Constance Kearns Doughty, favorite (and only) nephew Todd Cooper, niece Caledonia Kearns, and many other relatives, friends and supporters who were fortunate enough to be blessed by Lizzy, and bless Lizzy with their company.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Please see below link to view the livestream of the funeral service. Burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
