Obituary of Susan Davenport

Susan Davenport, age 74 of Whitehouse Station, died peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Davenport.

A longtime resident of Jackson, NJ, Susan moved to Whitehouse Station soon after retiring from bookkeeping in 2014.

Upon moving to Whitehouse Station, Susan joined the Readington Senior club where she met wonderful friends and enjoyed many activities arranged by the group.  

Susan will be remembered for her quirky, unfiltered sense of humor.  A night owl, she loved late night banter especially fireside on the patio.  She had a wild imagination which is reflected in her numerous writings and poems.   She was an avid reader, loved to bake and to try all forms of crafting.  

She is survived by her son, Charles Syvertsen of South Jersey; her daughters, Holly Swan and her husband, Robert of Whitehouse Station and Susan Del Prete of VA as well as her cherished granddaughters, Shea and Casey Swan. And of course her beloved cat, Junie Moon.  

A service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.  Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:00 to 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society.
