Obituary of Eugene P Vasquez

Eugene P. Vasquez, age 64 of Asbury, NJ, died of diabetic complications on Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital Warren Campus in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Gene grew up in Somerville, MA in a close-knit Italian family. He was an avid bicyclist, gardener, cook, and nature lover. He triumphed above dyslexia to earn a BA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts. He met his wife, Louise Vallee, at UMass and they were married in 1981. 

They moved to New Jersey to work for Chubb and Son, Inc. and Chubb Services. Gene became IT Manager for Chubb Services and he and his team travelled all over the United States to various branches. There was no IT problem that they could not fix! He was a “computer whisperer”. 

His children, Nicki and Jess, were the lights of his life and he attended all school and sports events and transported them everywhere, all the time. He proudly supported their development and accomplishments.

He was a beloved husband and father, community and Immaculate Conception volunteer, Knights of Columbus member, sports coach, and friend to all. He loved to help others and make the world a better place. Friends could always count on Gene for a kind word or spirit uplift.

Eugene is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Louise Vallee, and his loving children, Nicki Vallee-Vasquez and Jessica Vallee-Vasquez. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank Vasquez, and wife Rose, and Robert Vasquez.
