Obituary of Robert I Graham

Robert I. Graham  June 26, 1930- September 6, 2023

 

Bob was born in N.Y.C. To Irving J. and Margaret (Germond) Graham and then lived in Cliffside Park, N.J. He attended Epiphany School and St. Cecilia High School where he was so proud to have played football there with the famed coach Vince Lombardi.  He attended Fordham University School of Business, Delahanty Institute-Automotive Technical Training and Ford Marketing Institute. He began his career with Ford Motor Co. Lincoln-Mercury Division and left there to co-found the corporation, Zip Systems, selling and installing pneumatic tube systems and elevators. Bob was an active member of his parish community and volunteered for various organizations.  He was a eucharistic minister assisting chaplains through visitation at Muhlenberg and Somerset hospitals. He was a member of the Somerset County Chaplaincy Council and a Hospice volunteer.  He was voted Citizen of the Year by the Ford Motor Company recognizing him for his community spirit. He was one of the earliest members of the N.J. Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America and served more than 10 years as a volunteer member of the Office on Aging Handy Man Project providing a wide variety of general house maintenance services. He retired from Foothills Acres Nursing Home as maintenance manager.

 

Bob will be missed by his wife Margaret and his seven children, daughters, Jacqueline Hartung(Richard), Jeanne Rohrbach, Joann Fulton (James), Jennifer Cohen ( Michael), and sons, Robert J. (Judith), Brian T.(Cheryl) and  Paul J.(Cyndee), thirteen grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation to be held on Sunday September 10, 2023 at Kearns Funeral Home-103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888 from 2-4. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday September 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at St Bernards Catholic Church, 500 US 22 Bridgewater, NJ 08807
