Obituary of Adolfina Estrada
Adolfina Estrada, age 84 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Born in Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Natividad and Herribertha Estrada and immigrated from Mexico in 1965. Adolfina, known as Fina to her family and friends, lived in Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. Fina moved to Branchburg in 2002 before moving to Whitehouse Station in 2007.
Fina was a talented seamstress and worked as a supervisor for Loveline Industries, a manufacturer of Safety and Industrial clothing.
A member of St. Anthony’s Church in the Bronx while living in NY, she joined St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bridgewater upon moving to NJ.
Fina was a warm and nurturing soul. She was a dedicated grandmother, great-grandmother, and was like a second mother to all who knew her. Fina loved to knit and take long walks. Traveling was a passion, and she was able to see many places throughout the world, but she especially loved traveling to Mexico to visit family and friends.
Fina was predeceased by her son, Ernesto Cuellar, in 1995.
Fina is survived by her two sons, Santiago Cuellar Jr. and his wife, Mariageorgina of Whitehouse Station, and Ignacio Torres and his wife, Sara of Salinas, CA; her two daughters, Elvia Novak and her husband, Joseph of Branchburg, NJ, and Anadelia Rodriguez of the Bronx; her brother, Adan Estrada of Springfield, MA; her sister, MariadeJesus Barragan of Portland, Oregon; her 9 grandchildren, Ricky, Tiffany, Santiago, Adrian, Steven, Ernesto, Amber, Isabelle, and Daniel as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bridgewater.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
Burial will be in St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
