Obituary of Patricia Rodriguez

Patricia Rodriguez, age 82 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Friday, December 1, 2023 at Little Brook Nursing Home in Califon, NJ.

Born in Staten Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Sharkey) Hugo.   Patricia lived in Chicago and New Windsor, NY before moving to Whitehouse Station eleven years ago.

Patricia was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church in Flemington and while living in New York she was a very active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Cornwall, NY.   

Patricia was employed with American International Group rising to the position of Vice President.  She moved on to work for Swiss Life as the General Manager of their  Chicago office before returning to New Jersey for a few years before retiring.  

She enjoyed International travel and the theatre, especially musicals.    

Patricia was predeceased by her brother, Paul Borkowski and sister, Judith Hugo.

She is survived by her son, Gordon Skjeie and daughter, Emily Hammer.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Matthew Skjeie, Ariel Yanas, Adam Skjeie, and Amber Yanas and her two great grandchildren, Haley Skjeie and Kaia Skjeie as well as her brother, Harold Borkowski, sister Jayne (Hugo) Petersen and her cat Penny.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Newell Cemetery, Stanton.
