Obituary of Martin L Andrews V
Martin “Skip” L Andrews V, age 74 of Lopatcong, NJ, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 at home.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Martin L. and Ella Andrews IV. Martin had lived in Whitehall, PA, Florida, Mystic Island, NJ, and Florence NY before moving to Lopatcong in 2010.
He graduated High School in Wolcott where he was a Varsity Baseball catcher and a champion bowler in the New Haven County League.
He was a Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War era, earning the National Defense Medal and an Honorable Discharge in 1970. Following his military service, he pursued a successful career as an engineer, working for AT&T/ Lucent Technologies for 35 years.
Outside of work, Skip found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for fishing, spending countless peaceful hours on his boat in the Atlantic or on the shore casting his line, and enjoying the serenity of nature. He was an avid snowmobiler with his wife on their Arctic Cats around Camden and Tug Hill NY. He also had a fondness for cruises, where he could explore different destinations and create lasting memories. Pop Pop was a perpetual presence at every sporting and school event for his beloved grandchildren, no matter the effort required.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Annette, daughter Valerie Charous and her husband, Jeffrey with their children, Audrey and Jack, daughter Ranae Browning and her husband, William with their daughter, Kelsey, his son, Martin L. Andrews VI and his wife, Dawn, his daughter, Lara Hibbert and her husband, Jonathan, and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private services have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home.
