Obituary of Eleanor A Pickens

Eleanor A Pickens, age 90 of Somerset, NJ, died peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024 at her home.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Strout) Zimmerman.

Eleanor had lived in West Windsor before moving to Somerset 17 years ago. She was married to the late Harley L. Pickens.

She was an Administrative Assistant, employed by Mathematica, in Princeton Junction, NJ. She also worked for Princeton University in the Admissions office and was Assistant to Diplomat, George Ball of Princeton.

Eleanor was a beloved and private individual and was known for her unwavering love for her grandchildren. She found joy in the pages of books and delighted in the vibrant flowers she planted each spring. The beach held a special

place in Eleanor's heart, and she found solace in the sounds of the waves.

She is survived by her son, Donald Pickens of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, her daughters, Linda Huber Lopez-Balboa of New York City, and Janet Cole of Readington, NJ. She is also survived by her six special grandchildren, Sarah and

Bobby Cole, and Andrew, William, Claudia, and Matthew Lopez-Balboa.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home, Whitehouse.
