Obituary of Edward Joseph Zorsky

WHITEHOUSE STATION - Edward J. Zorsky, Jr. died, Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Hunterdon Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 52 years old. Ed was the beloved son of Edward, Sr. and Antoinette (Chervenyak) Zorsky and lived in Whitehouse Station and Califon for all of his life. Ed worked for Economy Trophies on Coddington Road for 30 years, joining his brother John in 1982 and assuming ownership in 1994. He supplied trophies and engraving to many local organizations, including Readington Township, High School and youth sports programs, several County Agricultural/4-H fairs, DVHA Horse Club and County billiard tournaments. He enjoyed the same loyal customers for years and supported many local charities through his business. Ed had a huge presence, a quick wit, and a great capacity for loving. He was a "one-of-a-kind" good man. Ed approached life, family, and friends with an open kind heart, a twinkle in his eye, and a hearty joke no matter what the situation. He enjoyed life to the fullest, every day. Ed was an expert fisherman and hunter. There was nothing he would rather do than climb into his truck around three in the morning with his kids, friends, and his wife to go fishing or head to upstate New York to hunt with his buddies. His daughter Samantha, his mother Antoinette, and his brother John, all died previously. Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Cathleen Zorsky of Whitehouse Station; his son, Ryan Zorsky of Stewartsville, NJ; his daughter, Rachael Ann Zorsky of Oxford, NJ; his father, Edward, Sr. of Whitehouse Station; his sisters, Margaret Claire Zorsky of Whitehouse Station, and Maria Dolores Zorsky of Lynn, Massachusetts; his nephew and adopted son, Patrick John Zorsky of Chandler, Arizona. Ed had three four-footed lab daughters, too; Sam, Jamie, and Abby. Ed was blessed by having so many devoted friends that are his "sisters and brothers" as well. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ. There will be no calling hours on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
