Obituary of Marion J Johnson

Marion Johnson, age 88, of Whitehouse Station, died after a brief illness on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Josephine Wigandt. Marion and her husband made their early home in Plainview, NY, later moving to Bridgewater NJ, and after retirement to Kunkletown PA. Marion then moved to Whitehouse Station 16 years ago to be closer to her children. She graduated from Southampton Hospital School of Nursing, and worked as a Registered Nurse at several hospitals in NY and NJ, as well as for the American Red Cross. Marion was a member of the Readington Senior Club. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, and was an avid reader. Family was her first priority, and Marion surrounded her family with love and support throughout her life. Marion had many friends, and will be remembered for her quick wit and willingness to help others. She will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry in 1996, after 48 years of marriage, as well as by her brothers Albert and Johnny. Marion is survived by her son, Wayne and his wife, Lisa of Lebanon Twp.; her daughter, Nancy Marturano and her husband, George of Ringoes; her brother, Robert Wigandt of Forrest Hills, NY and her grandchildren, Matthew and Hope Johnson and Scott and Emily Marturano; and one great grandchild, Olivia Johnson. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 8:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be private.
