Obituary of Richard R. Pipeling

Richard "Rich" Pipeling, 61, formerly of Clifton and Tewksbury NJ, passed away Thursday October 11th, 2012. Rich was born on December 9th, 1950 in Paterson, NJ. He was the son of the late Robert Pipeling and Charlotte (Ward) Pipeling of West Orange. He graduated from Clifton High School in 1968 and from William Paterson University in 1976 with a degree in communications and journalism. He married Aurora Rodriguez, also of Clifton, in 1972. Rich worked as a journalist and photographer for the Princeton Packet and the NY Giants. He was an esteemed photographer, specializing in corporate, real estate, sports and black and white portraits. Rich served in the Army National Guard Reserves. He was an avid reader, book collector, history buff and a NY JETS fan. He was an artist in the kitchen and a passionate and proud father and grandfather. He spent his weekends with his children and family. He is survived by his two children, Katharine (Pipeling) Batalha and her husband, Michael and Clinton Pipeling and his first Grandchild, Michael Richard Batalha, Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Charlotte; his sisters, Marilyn, Patricia and Loretta, and his brother, Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A life celebration service will be held at 4:00 PM. He will be laid to rest with his father, Robert in Paterson, NJ.
