Obituary of Alfred C Santino
Alfred C Santino, age 86 of Lakewood, NJ died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick Township, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Alfonzo and Francesca Santino.
Alfred had lived in Whitehouse for many years before moving to Lakewood 17 years ago.
A veteran of the United States Army, he honorably served his country during the Korean War.
Alfred was a Civil Design Engineer, and had worked for Con Edison in NY before his retirement.
He was a member of the Building and Grounds Committee at the retirement community in which he lived. He loved to play golf and enjoyed traveling after his retirement. He was intrigued by the art of wine making and enjoyed his share of successes as well as failures. In his younger years he took pleasure in owning and riding horses.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine in 1996 and his son, Steven in 2013.
He is survived by his two sons, Alfred and his wife Haydee of the Bronx and Kenneth and his wife, Libby of Woodbridge; his daughter-in-law, Maryann Santino of Stewartsville and his five cherished grandchildren, Marc, Morgan, Lorenzo, Michael and Anthony.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard's Church in Bridgewater.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
Entombment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater.
