Obituary of Richard H. Crummy
Richard H. Crummy, age 72 of Frenchtown, NJ., died Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Valley View Health Care Center in Frenchtown.
Born in Orange, NJ on March 2, 1934, he was the son of the late Andrew B. and the late Kathleen (Higgins) Crummy. He had lived in Clinton for several years and in Sacramento, CA for 4 years before moving to Frenchtown 3 years ago.
He was a 1956 graduate of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine receiving a bachelors degree in animal husbandry.
Mr. Crummy first worked as a general contractor for 25 years having owned and operated several construction businesses including Readifield Associates in Readington Township retiring 18 years ago. He later was a self-employed animal healer for 10 years, primarily healing and nurturing race horses, as well as other animals, before retiring 7 years ago after suffering a stroke. He was the topic of several articles in horse racing periodicals.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Susan E. Liebler of Clinton Twp. and Elizabeth A. Crummy of Madison, WI; 2 sons, Jeffrey S. Crummy of Sacramento, CA and Christopher J. Crummy of Mannford, OK; 2 sisters, Jane Purcell of Far Hills and Kathleen McGrath of Madison; 2 brothers, Andrew B. Crummy of Madison, WI and James L. Crummy of New Vernon and 13 grandchildren.
