Obituary of Andrew Ketrow

Andrew Ketrow, age 71 of Whitehouse, NJ., died Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late Andrew and Orvetta Ketrow. He served during the Korean war in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves from 1952 until being honorably discharged in 1963. Andy owned the Ridge Tavern with his wife Evelyn for 30 years until retiring in 2004. He also owned and operated Readington Auto Tire with his son Michael Ketrow from 1975 untill Michael took over the business in 1981. Andy had also worked as a General Manager for several Trucking Firms. Andy was a charter member of the Lions Club in Whitehouse, the VFW in Altoona, Pa, the American Legion Post 12 of Somerville, the Somerset Eagles and the Button Wood Gun Club of Whitehouse. Andy was a car enthusiast and was a proud owner of a 1947 Ford Coupe. Besides his wife, Evelyn and son, Michael of Washington, NJ; he is survived by his son, David of Middlesex, his daughter, Suszan Miller of Bound Brook, his step daughter, Karen Slanker also of Bound Brook; his brother, Harry Ketrow of Altoona, PA; 2 sisters, Barbara DeLong of South Bound Brook and Betty Barnhill of Altoona, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday April 14, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park in Sunbury, PA.
