Obituary of Mathilda Fuzo

Mathilda (Tillie) Fuzo, age 89 of Whitehouse , NJ, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Born on September 1, 1916 in Monessen, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Barbara Gogol. Tillie had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Whitehouse in 1954. She worked at the A & P Candy Factory in Brooklyn, N.Y. during the 40's and then the Ryland Inn Restaurant in Whitehouse before retiring from the LANECO Department Store in 1980. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 284 and head of the Daughters of the Legion She is survived by her husband of 71 years Victor Fuzo, her sons, John Fuzo of Warren, Ohio, Victor G. Fuzo of Roselle Park, and Frank Fuzo of Flemington, her daughter, Margaret Iwicki of Flemington, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
