Obituary of John G. Wood

John G. Wood, age 95 of Somerville, NJ, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born in Dixon City, PA, on October 22, 1910, he was the son of the late George and Grace (Shaffer) Wood. He lived most of his life in Somerville. John was a graduate of Bloomsburg State Teachers Colleg in Blooomsburg, PA. He taught Social Science in the Somerville School System until 1955. He then worked for Penn Mutual Insurance Company and the NJ State Rehabilitation Commission before retiring. John is survived by his son, John R. Wood of Warren, NJ; his daughter, Marion L. Barnes of Maplewood, NJ and 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home, Whitehouse (www.kearnsfuneralhome.com).
