Obituary of Mary H. Donofrio

Mary H. Donofrio, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Tuesday at her home in Whitehouse Station after a heroic battle with cancer. Mary was born in Jersey City on August 4, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary McGrath. She lived in South Plainfield and Hillsborough before moving to Whitehouse Station 8 years ago. Mary was a secretary, for the Hillsborough School District for 20 years before retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church in Bridgewater. Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph and her loving children, Douglas and his wife Susan of Far Hills; and Karen Donofrio of Bridgewater; her 2 brothers, Timothy and James McGrath and her 2 sisters, Margaret Prendergast and Kathleen Johnson and her 4 treasured grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernards Church, 500 US Hwy. 22, Bridgewater. There will be three viewing times on Friday, March 3, 2006. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
