Obituary of Mary R. Wright

Mary R. Wright, age 82 of Whitehouse Station, NJ. died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Mary was born in South Plainfield, NJ on December 17, 1922. She was the daughter, of the late Prokop and Domiinica (Kowalchik) Radkovich. In 1948 Mary married Frank W. Wright who was the former Chief of Police in Watchung and the former Under Sherrif of Somerset County. Mary had lived in Watchung for over 50 years before moving to Whitehouse Station 2 years ago. Mary was a school crossing guard, for the Watchung Borough schools until her retirement in 1979. As a volunteer, she served on the Ladies Auxiliary of the Watchung Rescue Squad. She spent many hours gardening at home. She loved the game of baseball and could often be found in front of the TV rooting for her Yankees. Mary was predeceased by her brother, John Radkovich and her sisters, Olga Uken, Dorothy Mihoky, Sonia Walker and Helen Hunt. In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her daughter, Fran Wright of Hackensack; her two sons, Thomas Wright of Whitehouse Station and Bob and his wife Peg and their three sons, David, James and Jonathan of Whitehouse Station. Mary is also survived by her sister, Anne Rowe of South Plainfield; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
