Obituary of Stanley R. Sawczuk

Stanley R. Sawczuk, age 76 of Tewksbury Township died Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ. Stanley was born in Chicago, Illinois and had lived in Tewksbury Township for the past 33 years. He was the son of the late Emil and the late Lottie (Swierczynski) Sawczuk. After receiving his MBA from Northwestern University, Stanley served in the United States Navy on active duty for 3 years and then in the reserves for 25 years, reaching the rank of Captain. He was the Executive Director Of Human Resources, employed by Merck and Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ for 32 years until his retirement in 1993. Since then, he and Anita spent the winters traveling the world. Stan was a wonderful husband, a great father and an amazing grandfather. Most important to him were his faith, his family and work for the Right To Life. He touched the lives and hearts of so many people. Stanley is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anita (Barwig) Sawczuk, his sons Kirk Sawczuk of Antioch, CA. and David Sawczuk of Alexandria, VA.; his daughters Laura Sawczuk of Orinda, CA., Gail Sawczuk of Tewksbury Township and Lisa Sawczuk of Evanston, IL.; his brother John Sawczuk of Algonquin, IL. and 16 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 11:00 am at St. John Neumann Church, 398 County Highway 513, Califon. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
