Obituary of John J. Conway

John J. Conway, age 91 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at his home. Born in Harrison, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Conway. John had lived in East Hanover for 40 years before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1994. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. John was a Training Supervisor and Instructor for NJ Bell Telephone for 35 years before retiring in 1980. Because of his contributions to the communications field, he was inducted into the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne who died in 1968 and his four sisters. John is survived by his two sons, John J. Conway Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL and Robert G. Conway of Whitehouse Station, and his daughter, Eileen Prudden of Manasquan, NJ. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
