Obituary of Nellie J. McGinnis

Nellie J. McGinnis, mother of four Pharmacists Nellie J. McGinnis, age 83 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Care One at Madison Avenue Facility in Morristown, NJ. Born in Pittston, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Pauline Jerrytone. Nellie had lived in Roselle Park for 44 years before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1999. During the war, Nellie worked for the No. 9 Coal Company in Wilkes Barre, Pa. from 1941 to 1946. After raising her family, she went to work for the Roselle Park Borough Hall for 15 years before retiring in 1999. While living in Roselle Park, she was a member of the Church of the Assumption, where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and taught CCD. She was also a member of the Roselle Park Senior Citizens Club. When Nellie moved to Whitehouse Station, she joined Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas G. McGinnis who died in 1984. Nellie is survived by her three sons, Thomas J. of Bethesda, MD, William P. of Long Valley, and Joseph F. of Annandale and her daughter, Joanne Prosky of Clinton Twp. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline OBoyle of Mountain Top, Pa, her brother, Patrick Jerrytone of Las Vegas and her eight grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
