Obituary of Sophie J. Caroppolo

Sophie J. Caroppolo, age 77 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Born in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes Walczak. Sophie lived in Brooklyn most of her life before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1992. She was a Kindergarten Teacher for 22 years at the Holy Family School in Brooklyn, NY until her retirement in 1988. Sophie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society and the Lourdes Seniors. She was also a member of the Polish American Citizens Club and the Readington Seniors. Sophie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Theresa Caroppolo of Whitehouse Station, her nephew, Walter Deptush and her 3 grandchildren, Sophia, Peter, and Michelle. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
