Obituary of Valerie Lyman

Valerie (Peaches) Lyman, age 45 of High Bridge, NJ., died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Born in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of Robert Lyman of Westerlo, NY and Lily Furness of Bradenton, FL. She was raised in Califon and had lived in Whitehouse for many years, before moving to High Bridge. Valerie had worked at the Spinning Wheel Diner, Hoffmans Restaurant and was the Bar Manager at the Wonder Bar and the Foolish Fox in Whitehouse, NJ. Valeries life revolved around her family and friends. Her love of the ocean enticed her to spend many vacations on the beach at Anna Maria Island with her best friend, Wendy Konnecke. Valerie loved kids, her cat, her garden, sunflowers, sunsets, flea markets, crabbing, motorcycles and NASCAR but most of all her long-time partner Kraig Stewart. Valerie is gone but her spirit lives in our hearts. Besides her parents, Valerie is survived by her three brothers, Robert Lyman Jr. of Belvidere, NJ; John Furness of Mendham, NJ; Drew Furness of HI; and her three sisters, Nancy Victoria Lyman of Somerset, KY; Barbara Watkins of North Carolina and Penelope Muller of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday January 6, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A memorial service will begin at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 600 First Ave., Raritan, NJ 08869.
