Obituary of Alexandria Zavoda

Alexandria Zavoda, loving wife and mother, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Born in Glen Lyon, PA, on July 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva Kmietowicz. Alexandria married George Zavoda on October 1, 1949. They had lived in Linden before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1953. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Manville. All who knew Alexandria will remember her as a kind and loving woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Besides her husband, George, she is survived by her daughter, Pat Zavoda and her husband, Pat Byers of New Orleans, LA; her sons, Richard Zavoda of Whitehouse Station and David Zavoda of Scottsburg, Or; and her 2 grandchildren, Stacey and Geoffrey Byers. Her brother, Francis Kmietowicz of Lake Wales, FL., also survives her. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 11, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Rural Hill Cemetery, Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. to join the procession to the Cemetery.
