Obituary of Thaddeus Stanley Cwik

Thaddeus S. Cwik, age 86 of Townville, SC, died Friday, May 11, 2007 in Seneca, SC. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Josephine Cwik. Shortly after his birth the family moved to the Pleasant Run section of Flemington where he was raised. He graduated from Flemington High School in 1939. Thad served in the United States Army. He married Willa Lovett in 1953 and enjoyed 53 years of love and companionship. Thad enjoyed 10 years as a Boy Scout Leader, served on the Flemington/Raritan School Board and headed many community fund drives for various Hunterdon County Charities. He founded and operated the Thad S. Cwik Realty Company in Flemington until 1990 when he sold the business and moved to Townville, SC. Among many awards and recognitions, he served as the President of the Hunterdon County Board of Realtors, President of New Jersey Association of Realtors, and President of the National Realtors Land Institute. Thad was awarded the prestigious, Distinguished Service Award by the National Association of Realtors. After moving to South Carolina, Thad earned his SC real estate license and stayed active as a director with the National Association of Realtors. Thad enjoyed gardening and raising Brittanies, a type of bird dog. He is predeceased by his brothers Henry and Frank and a sister, Violet. Besides his wife Willa, Thad is survived by many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 2:00 pm at St. Bernard Cemetery Chapel, Bridgewater, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Boy Scouts of America C/O Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 144, Townville, SC 29689 or to a charity of choice.
