Obituary of Ted Apgar
Edward (Ted) Apgar, age 74 of Whitehouse Station, NJ., died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the New Jersey Firemens Home in Boonton, NJ.
Ted was born in Morristown, NJ, son of the late Howard and Alberta Apgar.
He had lived in Millington prior to moving to Whitehouse Station, 33 years ago.
He was a traffic manager, for ASARCO in Perth Amboy and retired from US Metals in Carteret, NJ.
Ted was a Varsity Letterman at Rutgers University. He was a former member and Chief of the Millington Fire Company, and member of the Millington First Aid Squad. He was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Museum of Art, the Hunterdon Medical Center and was a Readington Little League Coach. Ted served on the Board of Directors for the Somerset Hills Pony Club and volunteered for the U.S.E.T. Festival of Champions, the Essex Horse Trials and the Gladstone Equestrian Association.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Scheick) Apgar, his two sons, Bruce of Washington and BJ of Whitehouse, his two daughters, Kim Ward of Holland Twp. and Pam Rifino of Whitehouse. He is also survived by his two brothers, Grant of Berlin, NJ and John of Whitehouse, and his five grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, followed by a funeral service at 8:00 P.M. in the Whitehouse United Methodist Church, 73 Old Highway 28.
Private burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Cokesbury.
