Obituary of William Dragan

William Dragan, age 84 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was the son of the late Martin and Ksenia Draganchuk. He was a Captain in the United States Army Air Corps serving during World War II. He received the Air Medal European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal as well as the World War II Victory Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge. Bill was a Certified Public Accountant, in Whitehouse for over 40 years. He was a charter member of the Whitehouse Rotary and a recipient of the Paul Harris Award. Bill was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes and belonged to the Church and Diocesan choirs. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the Sea Cadets of Warren and Somerset Counties. Bill was also Commanding Officer of the Ukrainian National Home in Bayonne, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother, Matthew Dragan and his sister, Marion Klapko. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sophia (Kania) Dragan, his 2 sons, William George Dragan of Stafford, VA; and Martin S. Dragan of Mount Holly, NJ; his 3 daughters, Sharon Ann Dragan-Barr of Pennington, NJ; Nadine M. Boden of Whitehouse Station and Daria Dragan-Zangara of Bridgewater and 17 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Burial will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ 08818.
