Obituary of Mertie M. Ireland

Mertie M. Ireland, age 85 of Whitehouse, NJ, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at Triumph Hospital Health Care Center in Easton, PA. Born in Crown Point, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Cobb) Merriam. Mertie had lived in Whitehouse for 45 years. She was a Lab Assistant for Ethicon in Somerville, for over 20 years before retiring 25 years ago. Mertie was a member of the Readington Township Senior Citizens Club. She also enjoyed using the Health Club at Ethicon while working there and long after her retirement. Mertie was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Buck who died in 1997. She is survived by her son, Robert Merriam of South Dennis MA, her sister-in-law, Gen Merriam, her nephew, Earl Bemis and his wife Lorna, five grandchildren, Jason Horvath, Shalisa Horvath, Cassie Laughlin, Dawn Merriam and Robert Merriam II. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, November 10, 2007, beginning at 1 PM and concluding with a service at 3 PM. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
