Obituary of Shirley E Presuto

Shirley E. Presuto, age 71 of Readington Twp., NJ, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Twp. NJ. Born in Bound Brook, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor Hodge. She had lived in North Plainfield prior to moving to Readington Twp. in 1975. Shirley was the secretary and bookkeeper for the Mini-Chek 5&10 in Whitehouse Station which was owned and operated by the family from 1969 until 2004. Shirley was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center in the Pharmaceutical Department for many years. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed traveling and had taken many cruises. In her spare time, she would go bowling or stay busy knitting and crocheting. She was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Folkins. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, Vincent whom she married in 1957, her two sons, Thomas and his wife, Debbie of Ringoes and Robert and his wife Andrea, of Kingwood, NJ, her 3 brothers, Arthur Hodge Jr., John Hodge and James Hodge. She is also survived by her 4 precious grandchildren, Kevin, Stephanie, Patrick and Jonathan. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Main Street, Whitehouse Station. Entombment will be at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse.
