Obituary of John Schiesl
Obituary Information
John Schiesl, age 98 of Whitehouse Station, NJ., died on Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Schiesl. He had lived in Springfield before moving to Whitehouse Station 17 years ago.
He was a quality control inspector, for 40 years, employed by the Singer Manufacturing Co. Elizabeth, NJ.
John was a member of the Singer Club where he enjoyed dancing and bowling. He was an avid reader and particularly liked reading about world affairs.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Helen who died in 1999 and his son Raymond, who served in the US Navy, and passed away in 1963. John was also pre-deceased by his brother Joseph and his sister Helen Gulben.
John is survived by his three daughters, Carol and her husband Michael Amato of Flemington, Nancy Miller of Washington Twp. and Mary and her husband William Delfinis of Hampton, NJ and eight grandchildren.
A private family viewing will be held Thursday morning, April 24 at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse, NJ. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30 AM, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Burial will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
In lieu of flowers, the family urges donations be made to the charity of your choice.
