Sean was my childhood friend and finding out today that he had passed away last Summer makes me sad that we lost Sean and that we had not stayed in touch better over the years. I will miss Sean and treasure our childhood memories, and I'm sorry for missing the chance to know him as we grew up (an arguable assumption).

I'm not sure how or why I found this website today. I grew up with Sean in Mountainside. We went to Our Lady of Lourdes together. We were members of that notorious gang Sister Mary Jane Francis so eloquently named the "Clique". I'll never forget the Summers when Sean, et. al. would come down Creek Bed or Old Tote Road every day with bats and gloves to play baseball at Deerfield. I never knew Sean as a "grown up" Did he?

To the entire Fenton family: I'm so sorry for only having learned of Dr. Fenton's passing. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. Dr. Fenton was our family dentist when he was still in Westfield. Our entire family went to him for years, and we all found him to be a kind and compassionate individual, as well as an awesome dentist. As his obituary stated, he was such a giving person to those less fortunate. Mom and Dad went through many years of financial struggles, and I remember Dr. Fenton allowing Dad to make "time" payments for the work we needed as children. I also remember you, Dolores working as his receptionist, and when you got engaged, you hung your engagement announcement and a gorgeous picture of yourself at your desk. You probably don't remember running into me at the Clinton Wal-Mart a few years ago. You both still looked the same! :-)
My brothers and I extend our sincerest condolences to you and your family during this most difficult time. May your memories of Sean bring smiles to your faces and light your way through your sorrows.
With sincerest sympathy,
The Lee family (from Scotch Plains, NJ), Dorothy, Jim & Kevin

Sean, once again I am the last one there. This time it's with my thoughts. After daddy died, you and I were the oldest ones at home, but you took on the role as our person we could always look up to. You took care of mommy and made dad so proud by being the best dentist, brother, husband and father. It's so hard now that four weeks have passed by to know that you are really gone. We had quite a few laughs over different Sean stories over the past two weeks with the family being together. We've even felt your presence at differnt times with different unexplained things happening. Continue to watch over all of us as you always have , especially Dolores and your kids. We love you and really miss you. Colleen

Because of the fantastically professional treatment that I received at his Westfield office, I followed Dr. Fenton to his Branchburg office. I told him that he was the best dentist I had met in my life. I was privileged to know him and his wife, Dolores and I witnessed first-hand the love they had for each other. I got to watch Bob the Builder with Bobby and watch in amazement, the prowess wielded by Danny with the office vacuum cleaner. I referred the rest of my family to dr. Fenton and we will all miss his kind and witty demeanor. My thoughts and prayers are with Dolores and the children. I feel that a member of my own family has died, he was that close to all of us. Thank you Dr. fenton and God bless you always.

To dear friend Delores,
and to Bobby,Casey,Danny,Joey, Jessie and John,
It is with deepest sadness that I write my condolences for the loss of your beloved Sean. With more than a week behind his passing, I can't imagine your devestation has lessened, yet I pray that you are finding a sence of peace with God, knowing he has a greater plan than we cannot understand. Although I have only known Sean in simple greetings and conversation, I feel that I know him best by the stories and tellings of your family life together. I know him to be a kind and caring man, one who has loved each of you in a unique and special way. He has been a strong and devoted father, and clearly, a proud and supportive husband to you, Delores. I know you are missing his presence, his words, and his smiles. However, you know his spirit is with you. I pray that in time, you will learn to speak to him and hear him answer you... and you will know that he is still with you and will be forever.
Thinking of you all,

Dear Sean,
You were our Prince; so kind, good and all-knowing. You took care of us when we were small, guided us like a father and kept a watchful eye over us as adults. I cherish the time we've spent and wish I could've had more time with you. You left pieces of you with everyone that you met, so unforgetable you were. I understood that you had work to do.
I will miss you each and every day for the rest of my life. You have touched me beyond words. You will forever live on in our hearts and in our souls. I have listened to you and will try each day to make you proud. When I search my mind for answers or need help in mustering my strength, I will ask myself, "What would Sean do?".
I Love You.
Until we meet again sweet Prince,

The heavens have finally opened up and joined in with our tears of sorrow for Sean and his family. Dr.Fenton, his practice, and his family was the other part of my life for almost 25 years. I could not have been more blessed. He was always the man that everyone else knew-kind, strong, dependable, gentle, sensitive, funny,thoughtful...He was so talented his field, humble ,generous and such a wonderful listener to all. These attributes were so much a part of his charm. My heart is so sad and I miss him so much I can barely share my thoughts. But- these are only thoughts and words. I know I must cherish these memories and cling to the fact that we have these. That this is how we are to look at this tragedy-we KNEW HIM - he was IN our lives, and we shared his world. My sorrow and love to his entire, wonderful family. Love, Jenny

Dear Dolores & family,
We are both stunned and heartbroken to hear of Dr. Fenton passing away so suddenly (that's what we always called him - never just "Sean" - always "Dr.", even when we saw him in "regular" life - like at theater productions at OLL!).
He will forever be our favorite dentist. He kept his promise and never showed me the scary needle! It was torture when we couldn't come in to see him and his wonderful staff. Please pass along our condolences to Sean's staff - they embodied his kindness and professionalism along with him.
He was truly the kindest most gentle person we have ever had the blessings to know.
He had the most kind, sparkling eyes, and his gentle heart always shone through his smile - what a wonderful way to be greeted!
We pray for Sean to walk peacefully within the kingdom of the Lord.
We pray for you and your family to walk forever with Sean's love and sweetness within your hearts.
Dolores - remember your music. It truly helps. Billy Joel said it - "Only the good die young".
Sean was too young, and too good.
We are grateful for the time we got to spend with him. We miss him, and we love you all.
We are sorry we cannot be there in person, but please know we are praying for you all, and holding you all within our hearts.
Comfort & Love to you all,

I am distraught over the news of Dr. Fenton's passing.
He was superior in his profession as a dentist, but even more so, he was superior as a nice person. Always a smile, a joke, a good thought to the patient going out the door.
I will forever cherish my smile, lots of good Irish jokes, and many a good thought for Dr. Fenton who gave me all of the same with every encounter. He always treated my family with the utmost professionalism, respect and joviality. I will miss him more than words can say.
To Dolores, keep singing. Music transends all the spheres of existance, even those we on earth cannot touch or see. Every heartfelt artistic endeavor by you and the children will make a meaningful wake on the sea of eternity.
Again, I express my deepest sympathy and loving thoughts to all of Dr Fenton's family and closest friends. I share with them the deep aching in our hearts for the earthly loss of our friend Sean, but know that somewhere he will always hear our music.
