Obituary of Antonette Damiano

Antonette Damiano, age 93 formerly of Alpha, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Born in Vandergrift, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Julia Esposito. Antonette had grown up in Newark and had lived in Kearny for 20 years before moving to Washington and then Alpha two years ago. She was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Vailsburg. During the 1960s and 70s she worked at Petermans Deli & Bakery in Newark. Antonette was a remarkable and resilient woman who devoted her life to her family. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Damiano who died in 1965 and her three children, Julia DePack and Frank and Donald Damiano. She is survived by her six sons, Samuel of Little Egg Harbor, Joseph of Old Bridge, Robert of Clifton, William of Whitehouse, Anthony of Rahway and Michael of Warren; her two daughters, Patricia Honan of Alpha, and Antonette Franklin of Lebanon. She is also survived by her sister, Edith Chovanes of Fla. and her brother John Esposito of Vandergrift, PA as well as over 60 grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, from 7-9 PM and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse.
