Obituary of Mimi Spivey
Florence (Mimi) Spivey, age 91 of Annandale, NJ, died in August 2008 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater Twp., NJ.
Born and raised in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gerda (Johansson) Woodruff. Mimi lived in Vero Beach, FL for 27 years before moving to Annandale three years ago.
Mimi was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whos love of family was immeasurable. She shared her time and gifts by helping others. She was a volunteer at the Indian River County Hospice and the Red Cross, both in Vero Beach. When she moved to New Jersey, she volunteered at the Hunterdon County YMCA and in February was named volunteer of the year. Mimi had a way of making everyone she met feel special. Mimi was also an avid golfer.
Mimi was predeceased by her husband, Harold Mandler Spivey who died in 1979.
She is survived by her son, Peter W. Spivey of Manhattan, her two daughters, Jane Dashine of Marshalls Creek, PA and Susan S. Mocha of Bedminster, her 4 grandchildren, Kim Weger, Tracy Scanlon, Paul Mocha and Max Dashine and her 7 great grandchildren, Katie Weger, Allie Weger, Grace Scanlon, Billy Scanlon, Patrick Scanlon, Amanda Mocha and Daniel Mocha.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Readington Reformed Church, 124 Readington Road, Readington, NJ. ( www.readingtonreformed.org).
A private burial will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery in New York, immediately following the service.
