Obituary of Doris Lennon

Doris LaTourette Lennon, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Sabal Palms Nursing Home in Largo, FL., just one week before her 86th birthday. Dottie grew up in Whitehouse and graduated from Flemington High School in 1941 and business college in Elizabeth the following year. She then, started her business career at Diehl in the engineering department. She was active in the Whitehouse United Methodist Church: teaching Sunday school, belonged to the young adult group and sang in the choir. Dottie will be remembered for her bright smile and her readiness to help others. She was married in 1947 to John Davenport. They had one son, Philip John, but were later divorced. Dottie moved to Florida in 1962, and in 1964 married Phillip Lennon. They both loved to travel, and in their 38 years put many miles on their Mini Winnie Winnebago Motor Home, traveling throughout the lower 48 states, Canada, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Alaska. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Alvah and Eva LaTourette, and her beloved husband, Phil. She is survived by her son, Philip J. Davenport of Easton, PA; granddaughter. Tammy of Bethlehem, PA; brother, Al LaTourette of Bellevue, Washington; sister, Shirley Palmer of Kemblesville, PA; niece, Darcy; Howard of Alexandria, VA; nephews, David and Michael LaTourette both of Washington state. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008, at noon in Rural Hill Cemetery, Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
