Obituary of Edna Dilley

Edna Dilley, age 91 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Born and raised in Somerville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Grace (Cummings) Soper. Edna lived most of her life in Whitehouse Station. She worked for 10 years at Johns-Manville as a cost accountant before retiring to raise her family. In 1972, she went to work for the NJ Savings Bank in Whitehouse Station where she was the head teller until retiring in 1977. Edna was the treasurer of Rural Hill Cemetery in Whitehouse for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Somerville. Edna was predeceased by her husband, George Dilley, Jr. who died in 2000. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, A. Lloyd Soper and Harold Soper and her sister, Ruth Soper. She is survived by her son, Douglas Dilley of Tucson, Arizona and her daughter, Ruth Dilley of Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 1, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the New Germantown Cemetery in Oldwick.
