Obituary of Irene A. Vatne

Irene A. Vatne, age 69 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at her home. Born in Germany she was the daughter of the late Johann and Ottilie (Heiser) Lowen. When she was 21 years old, Irene moved to the United States settling in Elizabeth, NJ. In 1972, she moved to Whitehouse Station. Irene loved flea markets and collecting jewelry. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading. She also loved flowers and one of her favorite pastimes was gardening. Most importantly, Irene was a wonderful wife and mother. Her husband, Einar Vatne who died on January 16, 2000 and her brother and sister predeceased her. Irene is survived by her two sons, Eric H. Vatne of Whitehouse Station and Poul Vatne of Hampton and several relatives in Germany. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. to noon at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
