Obituary of Girolamo (Jerry) Pugliese

Girolamo (Jerry) Pugliese, age 84 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his home. Jerry was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria Pugliese. He grew up in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1949, settling in Newark, NJ. He then lived in Kenilworth from 1962 until moving to Whitehouse Station in 1999. He was a foreman at the Stetson Hat Company in the Ironbound section of Newark for 30 years before retiring in 1986. Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marianna Pugliese, his son, Joseph Pugliese of Whitehouse Station, his daughter, Maria Mattera also of Whitehouse Station and his 5 grandsons, Gerald, Joseph Jr., Michael, Steven and David. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station, where Jerry was a communicant. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Entombment will be in St. Bernards Cemetery in Bridgewater.
